About

Tim Windom

Prior to my Biopharma career, I served as an officer in the United States Army and participated in the liberation of Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. This was a formative experience that taught me about the potential of high-performance teams. In my Biopharma career, I‘ve partnered with exceptional people to build high-performance teams responsible for global commercial strategy & clinical development, US launches, and enterprise commercial excellence. I’ve held senior leadership roles at Novartis, Merck, Elan, and Shire.

A life-long learner, I hold a BBA from the University of Georgia, an MBA from Norwich University, and am working toward a Master of Applied Machine Intelligence at Northeastern University. I have also completed certificate programs in digital strategy and artificial intelligence at Northwestern University.

The Innovator &

Tech Connector

I believe innovation doesn’t happen by chance. It is the result of a focused effort to connect unmet needs with emerging science and technology. Today’s Biopharma leaders must understand the potential of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, digital health solutions, and advanced data analytics to design the patient experiences that deliver the best clinical outcomes. The growth in health-related data has been exponential over the past few years, catalyzed by Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Wearable Devices, Genomic Data, Digital Health Applications, and Telemedicine. Crafting solutions that create value for patients, healthcare professionals, and payers requires an ability to connect the challenges of today with art of the possible.

During my career, I have had the opportunity as a pharma leader and an advisor to help teams understand how to connect asset and customer strategy with existing and emerging technologies to optimize patient and HCP experiences. As global head of commercial excellence at a mid-size pharma company, I led a team that reinvented the strategic and operational business planning processes incorporating innovations such as digital omnichannel design. As a consultant, I partnered with a top 3 pharma company U.S. operating division to develop a digital marketing innovation framework and capability-build roadmap, resulting in strategic investments in technical stack, creation of an omnichannel operations team, adoption of agile methodologies, and initiation of machine learning projects.
