About
Joachim Osther
I spent several years as Founder/Managing Director of biotech consulting firm Berea BioVentures, served as a Vice President of Global Business Development for medical device company, electroCore (NASDAQ: ECOR), as Vice President for and infectious disease-oriented start-up, Nielsen Biosciences, and served on the Board of Directors for private European oncology start-up, DanaGenetic A/S.
Prior to these roles, I had the opportunity to serve in marketing leadership roles at Eli Lilly and Amylin Pharmaceuticals (acquired by AstraZeneca/Bristol-Myers Squibb).
The Industry
Alchemist
In short – I see opportunity and complexity through the industry lens, the provider lens, and through the lens of human behavior.
I joined Vault to combine my 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/med-tech sectors with the existing elite industry leaders that comprise this high-powered consultancy. As one of the Vault executives, I have the pleasure and privilege of helping extract maximal value out of early products, inline brands, and ultimately, the wider business of pharmaceuticals.
I bring a different approach and skill set to solve for complexity. To complement extensive healthcare industry experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, and physical therapy fields, I completed my graduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, in humanities to augment my experience with seeing human-centric opportunities where seemingly none exist.
Having worked nearly exclusively in the healthcare field – in hospitals and clinics with doctors and nurses, from big pharma to small biotech, in consultancies and agencies – I have looked in the eyes of patients and seen their struggles and triumphs, carried the bag on the frontlines of sales, launched and marketed new classes of drugs, modeled the risk and the value of burgeoning pipelines, and written full business plans for start-up companies.
